Welcome to Nakitsilik Siberians

First and foremost - our goal has always been to work for the betterment of the breed, our love of the Siberian Husky and to share that love and our passion for the sport with our guests.

Nakitsilik (pronounced: Na-kit-sill-eck) started out as the culmination of a 20 year dream in 1997 and has gradually expanded to the amazing experience that our guests tell us it is today.

Nestled on a heavily treed hillside on the Bonaparte Plateau, our 3,000 sq foot hand hewn log home offers great views and unparalleled peace & quiet. Surrounded by crown land our 160 acre property is private and has access to literally hundreds of miles of trails, and boasts 125 lakes within a 45 minute drive. We love our quiet mountain paradise!

The Nakitsilik Experience:

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine that there is no one else around you. No city, no cars, no noise.

Imagine that it is a clear & sunny day, the pristine white of the newly fallen snow almost blinding in its' brilliance, the sky shining like a jewel above your head, the trees and mountains rising around you like silent sentinels. The air is crisp, cold & clean.

Now picture yourself on the back of a dog sled, being pulled by a team of purebred Siberian Huskies.

Imagine the power as you have harnessed your team, and feel the spirit of these incredible animals as they race across frozen ground as their ancestors once did; the peace of the morning broken only by the whisper of sled runners as they pass over the snow.

At Nakitsilik, we believe in the romance & adventure of dogsledding. The Siberian Huskies at Nakitsilik are a cheeky lot, full of fun & mischief and they love to run.
